Wanting Good Things For Yourself
Recently, I’ve decided to pray for myself. This isn’t something that I have done very much I will be honest, normally I pray for the good of others and while there is nothing wrong in that, I just decided recently to pray for myself.
Something that I realize or have started to appreciate is that wanting good things for yourself is sanity. For so long I’ve been neglectful to my owns wants and needs, I’ve been doing it far too much for others and not myself and this has caused me to feel that others have it better than me somehow.
There is a quote from the Upanishads that basically says that you should see yourself in every being and essentially what this is saying is that we are all in fact one person. That person is I as much as it is you, the person reading this.
But the point I want to get across in this article is that you should do things for yourself and I feel I’m very much making up for lost time in this regard because I’ve been so focussed on pleasing others and doing it for others, when really I should have been doing it for myself, not others.
I feel this is something that so many people do, doing it for others and pleasing others and not yourself. Focus on yourself, want good things for yourself and if you really want to prove to the world you actually want good things for yourself pray that good things come to you, you may not believe in the power of prayer, but from my experience prayer DOES WORK.
I will give a brief outline on the technique I use to pray, but all you do is visualize the issues affecting you and pray they be helped, you can do this for as long as you want. It was noted that Jesus in the Bible would pray for up to an hour, if you actually pray for that long then you may perhaps be surprised by the results you get… But not all need pray for that long, 15 minutes will suffice. Even 2 minutes will suffice. But you need to in your heart really have the intention of doing good for yourself.
But, like this has worked for me and I have benefitted a lot from it recently. As with all my articles, don’t take what I say as a given, test it out for yourself and see the truth for yourself. Wanting good things for yourself is sanity and is not selfish in any way shape or form. Peace be with you. Also, what affects you, affects all, when you benefit, all benefit. Seek to do good for yourself and put yourself first.
Link to similar article I did, but didn’t quite realize the point that you should do things for yourself and have your own best interests.
Also, I mention it as a quote on my profile, but the only battle worth fighting is the battle within and nobody can compete with somebody who has genuinely conquered themselves.
World best be ready for me…
